New Zelda SD Card is the Storage Solution Switch Owners Need
Western Digital's brand new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom-themed SD card is a must-have for Switch owners, thanks to its large storage.
The Nintendo Switch is known for its limited storage capacity, with the base model having just 32GB and the OLED having a slightly better 64GB. Regardless of which model of Switch gamers possess, however, it's almost guaranteed that owners will need to invest in an external memory card at one point or another, and that's where Western Digital's new Legend of Zelda-themed 1TB SanDisk microSD comes to save the day.
Generally speaking, most official Nintendo Switch SD memory cards max out at about the 512GB mark, with Western Digital's Animal Crossing-themed microSD from a few years ago being one of the most impressive external memory cards available for the console. While a 512GB memory card is sure to be sufficient for a good portion of the Switch's player base, games are only continuing to get bigger in size, and those that don't want to constantly delete and re-download their games might want to consider upgrading to a shiny new Zelda-themed 1TB microSD.

Available now, Western Digital's new Zelda-themed 1TB SanDisk microSD card is really a must-have for gamers who primarily play their Nintendo Switch over any other console or simply those who have too many games to count. Unlike other 1TB SD cards gamers can find online, this is the only officially licensed Nintendo SD card that offers 1TB of memory. As such, it's been routinely tested to ensure that it works on every Nintendo Switch model from a base 2017 console and the Nintendo Switch Lite to the Nintendo Switch OLED. With Nintendo's official seal, gamers can be assured that this SD card won't suddenly corrupt all the data within or just stop working after a few months.
This new Zelda-themed 1TB microSD is available now for $149.99, which might seem like a lot on paper, but is actually quite fair when compared to the rest of the memory card market right now. Unofficial 1TB cards will still set gamers back around $130-140, and there's no guarantee that they'll even work on the Nintendo Switch, at least not for the long haul. When Western Digital's Animal Crossing-themed 512GB microSD was originally released, it retailed for around $130, so for double the memory, an increase of just $20 really isn't all that bad.
But this card's 1TB memory isn't the only thing it's got going for it. Running hot off the heels of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's successful release, this memory card features a Zelda-inspired visual design. Much like Western Digital's Animal Crossing memory card, this Zelda-themed microSD takes some iconic imagery and coloring from the franchise and applies it to the card. The black memory card is littered with bronze highlights, including the Nintendo Switch logo, the SanDisk logo, and the 1TB specification. The card also features the Hylian crest in its center, complete with the iconic Triforce and the wings surrounding it. While the 1TB storage space is definitely the memory card's biggest draw, its Legend of Zelda theming goes a long way in making it feel like a true Nintendo-licensed product.
Alongside the Zelda-themed 1TB microSD, Western Digital has also released a Yoshi-themed memory card. Perfect for those that don't need too much memory, this Yoshi-themed memory card is only 64GB and currently retails for just $14.99. Like the Zelda memory card, this Yoshi-themed 64GB SD is also an officially-licensed Nintendo product, meaning that it's guaranteed to work on all Nintendo Switch consoles.

From his earliest gaming memories playing Spyro 2 on the PlayStation, to being obsessed with the swing-out animations in Marvel's Spider-Man, Cameron has always been, and continues to be, in love with video games. What started as frenzied childhood discussions on Star Wars Battlefront 2 has transitioned into somewhat less frenzied breakdowns on...Star Wars Battlefront 2. It's fair to say that video games are an integral part of Cameron's life, and hopefully they'll continue to be.
