Lexar Shows Off New RAM, NVME SSDs And CF Memory Cards At Computex 2023

Mar 23, 2023

Lexar showed off quite a few products at its booth at Computex 2023 and we have all the details. The first item of business were the ARES DDR5 ram kits that Lexar is selling right now. The lineup begins with the ARES RGB DDR5 kit available in 5600, 6000 and 6400 MT/s as well as on-die ECC.

They also have a non-RGB variant in plain grey color scheme and 5200 and 6000 MT/s as well as on-die ECC. Finally they are also showing the older DDR4 ARES RGB ram kit in white featuring either 3600 MHz or 4000 MHz. All ramkits shown were 32 GB ram kits (16x2) which is really the new 16 GB standard for modern 64-bit systems these days.

Lexar also demoed its NM800 PRO M.2 2289 SSD which is a Gen4 SSD with plenty of read and write speed - 7.5 GB/s and 6.5 GB/s to be precise. It is available in sizes ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB. The PRO version also comes with a passive heatsink to make sure the NVME does not throttle if you are doing heavy video editing or storage intensive tasks all day. Lexar has always been a price leader and makes products of great quality for the price point and this shows here.

Speaking of budget they also had the Lexar NM790 NVME SSD on display which has just 100 MB less read speed with the same write speed but is cheaper in price. They also had a very cool looking portable NVME SSD called the SL660 BLAZE Gaming Portable SSD that features the USB 3.2 Gen2 connector ans has speeds of up to 2 GB/s read and 1.9 GB/s write and sizes ranging from 512 GB to 1TB. It has an RGB handle as well which presumably glows while it is connected.

Lexar is an extremely well known brand in the photography and videography industry as well and keeping in line with their reputation they also showed a massive 2TB Professional CFexpress Type B Gold Series Card that can sustain speeds of up to 1.9 GB/s read, burst up to 1.5 GB/s write and sustain 1.3 GB/s write. These types of speeds are essential if you are trying to record 8K RAW videos and has XQD capability and available in 1TB or 2TB sizes.

Lastly they also revealed a new JumpDrive M900 USB 3.1 flash drive that features up to 400 MB/s read and a M.2 NVME SSD enclosure featuring the USB 3.2 Gen2 connector with data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps with a Type C to Type C cable.
